The Maximoose Coffee Caf is looking for a Caf Attendant. We are looking for someone who is reliable, detail oriented, and willing to learn. We hope to find someone who is capable of balancing a customer service role with the skills or ability to learn to manage the daily tasks required of running a small coffee shop and caf.
This is a part-time-full time M-F position. We operate between the hours of 7am-3:30pm. You would be working independently with support from management, and at times another part-time employee.
Must have reliable transportation to and from work. Must be 18 years or older, and able to obtain an Interested Persons Report for security clearance.
Skills:
Customer Service: Must have a positive attitude and ability to think independently to make good decisions with how you interact with our customers.
Critical Thinking: Must be able to work independently, and make sound judgements, and problem.
Barista skills: we are looking for someone who is an experienced barista or is willing to train. You will be expected to make quality espresso, coffee, and iced beverages through-out your shift. You will be expected to pass a barista competency test with a 90% or higher.
Food handling: We are looking for someone who has their Food Handlers License, and ServeSafe Food Protection Certification. If not, then the ability to acquire one within 3 months of employment.
Cash handling: High level of accuracy in counting back change, counting down, and setting up cash drawer. The ability to maintain a cash log, and end of day reports.
Good Communications: Needs to be able to have strong verbal and written communication skills. Keeping the manager aware of any needs, questions, or concerns. We also keep an updated shift log.
Inventory Management: Needs to have the ability to learn our inventory management system and be able to receive and place orders when needed.
Multitasking: Must be able to have good time management in order to accomplish several tasks each shift, week, month.
The ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, twist, lift up to 10lbs. above your head with reasonable accommodations.
Duties:
Open caf routine: Pick up the cash drawer bag from safe, prepping the brewed coffee, calibrating the espresso machine, preparing the sanitizer bucket, and 3 sinks compartments. Selecting appropriate music for the time of day, as well as making sure all signage is turned on, and any specials are accurately advertised.
Preparing any food items to restock the Grab and Go fridge or preparing any specials.
Maintaining a clean work environment throughout the day.
Pre-Close routine: cleaning up from any lunch specials, safely cooling and storing any leftover specials. Pull to thaw any ingredients needed for the next day.
Washing all dishes, and food or coffee equipment, small wares.
Stocking paper goods, bottled drinks, etc.
Wiping down all counters, cabinets, glass, etc.
Pulling trashes for the janitorial staff.
May require sweeping and mopping at times, but that is usually done by the janitorial staff.
Closing: turning off signage, lights, closing out register, counting sown till, preparing end of day reports and deposits.
