Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Paramount, California

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity in the manufacturing industry located in Paramount, California. The role is an Accounts Payable Clerk, where you will be responsible for managing incoming AP email and USPS mail, providing initial 2-way and 3-way match to invoices, and entering them into our ERP system. Your role will also involve collaborating with other departments to resolve issues and maintain relationships with vendors.

Responsibilities:

• Manage incoming AP email and USPS mail efficiently.

• Provide initial 2-way and 3-way match to invoices and enter them into the ERP system.

• Follow a chart of accounts for GL coding on 2-way matches.

• Review invoices for proper tax representation and calculate and add tax if needed.

• Work with other departments to resolve issues for missing receipts, receipts beyond system thresholds, and other discrepancies.

• File and archive documentation appropriately.

• Review uninvoiced receipts to ensure timely posting of invoices and obtain missing invoices when necessary.

• Maintain relationships with vendors, fielding inquiries, obtaining invoices, resolving discrepancies, and reconciling to statements.

• Assist in obtaining data for audits, SOX, and other requests as needed.

• Have skills in Accounts Payable (AP) to efficiently perform all tasks. Requirements • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.

• Proficiency in utilizing Accounts Payable (AP) software.

• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Demonstrated ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.

• Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software.

• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

• Excellent data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.

• Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.

• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• High school diploma required; associate's degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred.
