Description
Performs various tasks of operating cash register, collecting cash, vouchers, and balancing cash drawer. Assists in setting up cafeteria services and functions.
Operates cash register according to standard procedure. Collects cash payments; collects and tallies meal vouchers.
Balances the cash drawer daily, reporting any discrepancies to supervisor or Cafeteria Manager.
Responsibly handles all monetary transactions.
Fills and/or stocks cashier area (e.g., puts out appropriate signs, makes sure supply of muffins, cookies, etc. are adequate) and other areas as assigned.
Assists in miscellaneous food preparation as required.
Makes sure all point of sale signs and menu boards are current.
Completes side work as needed: stocks bread, refills salad bar, replenishes condiment stands, makes coffee, wraps, and cookies.
Participates in inservices and departmental meetings.
Assists in catering as needed.
Qualifications
Education
Required
- Diploma or better in Diploma/GED
Experience
Preferred
- 1 year: Experience as cashier
