JOB PURPOSE
This position assists in recruiting, new hires, employee relations, and
administrative process as directed the Human Resources Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Processes applications, conducts prescreens and references
backgrounds.
2. Creates an applicant pool, administers prescreen testing, sets up
department interviews and Gaming appointments.
3. Post open positions, attends job fairs and recruits when needed.
4. Maintain bulletin boards with legal and informational postings,
ensures they are current and up to date.
5. Processes new hire paperwork, takes new hires on tour, goes over the
handbook.
6. Oversee the maintenance of all record keeping relative to employee
related issues. Held accountable to a high degree for the accuracy and
thoroughness of HR departmental records and reports.
7. Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
8. Initiates and maintains communication with subordinates, employees,
management, and other departments in facilitating the flow of
information throughout the property.
9. Deal tactfully with employees when handling unexpected situations,
finding solutions that ensure employee satisfaction with minimal
financial impact on Casino operations.
10. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by HR
Manager.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform
each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are
representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
1. Bachelors degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years of human resources
experience or a combination of experience and education.
2. Must be extremely numbers oriented and computer literate with
superior spreadsheet skills.
3. Must be reliable, punctual and cooperative with co-workers and
managers.
4. Maintain a professional and even tempered demeanor in a high stress
environment.
5. Ability to work in areas containing high noise levels and second
hand smoke.
LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS
1. Speak and communicate effectively with individuals and before groups
of people.
2. Ability to verbally communicate using appropriate English standards
of language.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts and perform
mathematical functions applicable to business needs.
LICENSING
Must be able to qualify for any and all licenses or permits required by
local, State, Federal and/or Wyandotte Nation law.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that
must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential
functions of this job.
1. Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry 50lbs in emergency situations.
2. Ability to function in a smoking environment.
3. Employee smoking is restricted to outside location and during break
times.
4. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision,
distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to
adjust focus.
5. The noise levels in the work environment are constant.
6. Ascend/descend flights of stairs to access office and break areas
throughout work day.
7. Ability to sit, stand, and walk for entirety of shift as required to
conduct normal assigned duties.
8. Efficiently function in an environment with blinking/blinding
lights.
