PositionSummary:
Under supervision of the Dispatch Manager performs technical work of in
the supervision of public safety dispatchers, the dispatch
communications center and public safety answering point operations for
law enforcement, fire and other emergency service providers.
Essential Job Functions:
- Functionsas911 Dispatcher,ensurescompliance withpolicies.
- Plans, assigns and manages the work dispatchers
- Provides dispatch communications assistance for the Sheriffs Office
- Enforces dispatch center quality control and compliance in regards
to customer service, policy, procedure, statute, laws
- Ensures 24-hour uninterrupted communications service to agencies are
maintained
- Serves as a liaison to Law Enforcement and Fire/EMS Departments
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plans, schedules, coordinates and reviews the work of 911
dispatchers
- Enforces the effectiveness of existing communication procedures
- Prepares reports
- Assists in the selection and training of personnel
- Supervision of the dispatch staff payroll
- Functions as a dispatch/communications specialist
- Subject to call outs for emergencies in dispatch center and the
County
- Works rotating shifts which may include weekends and/or holidays
- Performs various clerical tasks
- Any additional duties assigned relating to this supervisory role
