KBR is seeking a E2 (Hawkeye) Technician, Avionics Systems Integration to join our team in Lexington Park, MD. This position provides support services to the Naval Air Warfare Center- Aircraft Division (NAWC-AD) Integrated Battlespace Simulation and Test (IBST) Department in Lexington Park, MD, and Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD. The position supports the E-2 Systems Test and Evaluation Lab (ESTEL). The ESTEL is a Hardware-in-the-loop integration lab with software simulation/stimulation assets that provide live and simulated inputs onto mission systems sensors. The ESTEL provides the E-2 Integrated Test Team (ITT) with an environment to enable flight rehearsals, test development, troubleshooting, training, data reduction, and analysis. The ESTEL aircraft systems include an E-2D flight bench as well as real mission computers and flight avionics.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position provides technical support for the ESTEL in support of E-2C/D development and testing requirements, including the installation, maintenance, repair, and upgrade of man- in-the-loop simulation workstations, hardware-in-the-loop avionics racks, RF communications assets, and test support systems and infrastructure. ​ The position also supports laboratory operations to include system configuration, startup, scheduling, and system operation for E2 system component testing, system development and testing, and distributed simulation / LVC test events.

  • Provides operation and maintenance support for simulation stations and supporting equipment.

  • Sets up and configures simulation equipment for test and training sessions.

  • Performs basic trouble-shooting, maintenance, and repair of simulation systems and supporting equipment.

  • Maintains schedules of simulation sessions, including resources used and required configuration.

  • Operates simulation systems during test, training, and demonstration events.

  • Provides technical support to project engineers and simulation customers.

  • Sets up and configures laboratory and test facility equipment accordance with test requirements.

  • Fabricates, installs, tests, repairs and connects electrical and optical cables.

  • Assembles, installs, tests, modifies, and repairs test equipment and facility infrastructure.

  • Capable of supporting the manual movement of large (5,000 lb.) wheeled simulation cockpits.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

DoD Clearance Requirement: Top Secret Clearance

Experience:

Three (3) years of E2 aircraft systems test equipment setup and configuration, fabrication of electrical and network cables using commercial and military hardware, installation of new equipment, assembly of test equipment and racks, operation and maintenance of aviation simulation RDT&E or training systems experience.

Education:

a)High school graduation or equivalency certification.

OR

b) Completion of a technical school, trade school, or advanced armed services technical school curriculum or course of training in electricity, electronics, avionics, mechanics, armaments/ordnance, or engineering technology; or, completion of at least 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) of course studies at an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical curriculum.
