QUALITY TECHNICIAN Under the direction of the Quality Manager, the incumbent is responsible for establishing and maintaining inspection methods and test requirements to ensure that products are being manufactured within specification for shipment to the customer, assisting customers with quality concerns, and working to develop and maintain our quality systems. Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Checks and approves cut and bent glass parts from pre-furnace and furnace areas including but not limited to; shapes, tempering, scratch marks, conformity to jigs etc. Performs visual and dimensional inspection on part(s) and in process material including but not limited to workmanship, and quality. Performs regulatory testing post tempering. Checks and approves bends from furnaces. Supports and resolves customer concerns. Responds to internal and external quality concerns using the corrective action / preventive action process, quality alerts, and other quality tools. Develops and improves written work instructions. Prepares material certifications per customer request. Performs Process Audits. Using the Internal Audit Process maintains and continually improves our ISO Quality Systems. Generates Product Hold Notifications for discrepant material identified by the customer and identified throughout the production process. Trains all team members to our glass specifications and quality standards Approves patterns with matching blueprints for the purpose of sizing parts and paint files. Supports and develops internal and external quality initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: One year experience in quality assurance in a manufacturing setting, preferably with familiarity of glass, or two years' experience in glass manufacturing with proven quality focus. Knowledge of Z26.1 specifications. Knowledgeable of ECE R43 specifications. Ability to read blueprints and interpret tolerances noted on the customer prints. Ability to use and read caliper(s), micrometer(s), tape measure, gloss meter,
