U.S. Pacific Fleet, Commander in Chief ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT ASSISTANT (OA) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

Summary You will serve as an Administrative Support Assistant (OA) in the Fleet Health Services Department of COMMANDER US PACIFIC FLEET. Responsibilities You will assist in accomplishing the mission of the Fleet Surgeon by providing administrative services and ensuring a smooth flow of business into and out of the office. You will draft letters, directives, memoranda, and messages from oral instructions or from rough drafts directly into finished form. You will maintain all files for the section and make changes to instructions and manuals. You will receive all visitors and telephone communications for the Fleet Surgeon, ascertain the nature of the call or visit, and take appropriate action. You will maintain calendars and schedule appointments and meetings based upon personal knowledge of the workload and current issues of importance. You will execute security measures and is responsible for the receipt, control, dissemination, storage and destruction of classified documents. You will input Department TDY Travel requests utilizing automated systems. You will track all Department TDY Travel requests ensuring delivery of orders and ticketing received in a timely manner. You will maintain Directorate access to Knowledge Management tools including establishing new accounts, updating profiles and re-setting passwords as necessary. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector using office automation programs to execute or provide planning of administrative functions for daily office operations. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
