1 - First Shift

Are you the type of person who passionately manages the development and delivery of data and analytics solutions to complex and important business projects? Are you ready to direct data mining activities that analyze historical data with the goal of identifying trends or patterns and then using those insights to predict future outcomes? In this role you will drive the creation of complex metrics and visualizations for high priority and strategic business needs, prototyping of proposed solutions and development of ad-hoc analytics as required, while ensuring that proper data governance is in place. We’re looking for a highly adaptive, visionary manager in business intelligence with a strong focus on customer service and the proven ability to drive outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  1. Drive team member growth by working on individual development plans with your team, providing the tools and opportunities to allow each team member to grow the skills and techniques to help them in their career.

  2. Plan, coordinate and supervise all activities related to the design, development and implementation of organizational reporting and analytics.

  3. Manage the data and analytics team in the areas of dashboard design, documentation and data storytelling. Supervise the development of projects (using Agile project methodology) while providing support and encouraging collaboration among developers and analysts.

  4. Lead promotion of good source control standards and documentation for development, testing and deployment processes. Supervise creation of guidelines and processes for maintainability within the organization.

  5. Manage evaluation of user requests for new or modified features and control feasibility, cost, time requirements and compatibility with existing systems and capabilities. Monitor usage, effectiveness and operational efficiency of BI systems and provide architectural oversight.

  6. Evaluate industry trends in Data and Analytics for opportunities to utilize new technologies and data sources. Prepare and execute strategies to implement these enhancements in the organization.

  7. Contribute to the data strategy and be a driver for data literacy throughout the organization. Work with data stewards and product owners to increase data governance and to improve security of reports. Propose and implement process improvements regarding analytics development and data driven decision making.

    What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Science, or related field with a minimum of seven years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with data storage technologies including both relational databases and non-relational data stores and SQL queries to extract information from relational databases.

    • Strong understanding of data warehouse reporting fundamentals.

    • Strong experience with data visualization and reporting tools, such as Power BI and SSRS.

    • Knowledge of current data analysis tools and languages like Python or R preferred.

    • Strong understanding of the meaning of data and the business processes that drive data creation or consumption.

    • Experience in supervising and building relationships with people at all levels.

    Travel

    • No travel is expected is expected of this position.

Work Location

REMOTE: A team member’s day-to-day work may be best completed from a location other than a Vermeer campus. There will be instances where the work requires time spent on a Vermeer campus. Discuss specific arrangements with your manager. Remote team members are eligible for business-related reimbursements per the work location policy.
