THE POSITION
Drive your Commonwealth career in a new and exciting direction! The Department of Transportation (DOT) is seeking an enthusiastic administrative professional for the Bureau of Office Services. This position is responsible for the pick-up and delivery of mail and packages in the Capitol Complex and surrounding areas.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will pick-up and deliver both incoming and outgoing mail on all DOT floors of the Keystone Building, as well as downtown DOT locations, the Capitol Complex, and other Harrisburg Office locations on a schedule established by the section manager. You will monitor and operate all mail-related equipment and postage allotments for the Keystone building, use the UPS computer system to ship packages, and ensure all mail is sorted, picked up, and delivered timely. Your duties will include operating the Commonwealth Mail Van. This position is required to cross train all other mail room functions for maximum staff coverage.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
Work hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
Graduation from high school;or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Class C driver's license.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
