THE POSITION

The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs is searching for a Maintenance Repairman 2 for the Easton Readiness Center and Easton Facility Maintenance Shop. The employee in this position performs general maintenance and repair work. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Duties include preparing interior and exterior walls, ceilings, and trim for painting; mixing paint and performing interior and exterior painting at the armory; installing and repairing sinks, faucets, urinals, water heaters, pumps, valves, drains, and commodes; and installing and replacing electric circuits, circuit panels, wall plugs, and lighting fixtures. You also perform all rough and finish carpentry work such as remodeling rooms, lowering ceilings, installing paneling and floor tiles, installing and finishing drywall, repairing holes in walls, repairing furniture, repairing and replacing all components of windows, fixing doors and locks, and installing doors. In addition, you remove snow, ice, and debris from all exterior surfaces of facility property; mow grass; and maintain landscaping.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or
Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades.
Experience in commercial carpentry, electrical, and plumbing trades.
Experience working in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration and/or HVAC systems.
Experience in commercial maintenance of buildings and equipment.
Experience with 3-phase wiring to include emergency generators, Automatic Transfer Switches, switch gears and 3-phase panels.
Experience working with domestic hot water mixing valves, recirculating loops, aqua stats, and instantaneous water heaters.
Experience with the provisions of Life Safety Codes and Uniform Construction Code (UCC), as it relates to repairs of buildings.
Structural experience n the maintenance or repair of buildings.
