DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As part of this role, you will utilize your extensive knowledge and expertise in purchasing and procurement to address inquiries received through phone calls, emails, and Remedy tickets from agency staff across the state. These inquiries will pertain to various aspects of procurement, purchasing, and inventory management, and it will be your responsibility to provide effective resolutions and guidance to the staff members.

Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and implementing quality assurance assessments on a statewide level. These assessments will be aimed at assisting organizations in enhancing their purchasing, procurement, purchasing card, and inventory management programs. By conducting these assessments, you will help identify areas for improvement and mitigate risks for the agency.

In order to support the PennDOT Inventory Management and Purchasing Cards program areas, you will actively contribute to their quality assurance review program efforts. This will involve collaborating with the respective teams to ensure that the program areas are operating efficiently and effectively.

Furthermore, you will play a key role in the development, support, participation, and evaluation of statewide training programs. These programs will be focused on the Department's inventory management, procurement, purchasing, and purchasing card activities. Working closely with supervisors from the Bureau of Office Services Section, subject matter experts from the Commonwealth, and customers, you will help create comprehensive training initiatives that align with the department's goals and objectives.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office.

  • Selected candidates can work out of the Keystone Building or nearest PennDOT Engineering District Office, if space is available.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Management Analyst 1; or

  • two years of experience in technical management analysis work, and a bachelor's degree; or

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires possession of a current driver's license which is not under suspension.
