THE POSITION

The Bureau of Medical Marijuana, Division of Facility Compliance is seeking Safety Inspectors to join their dedicated team of professionals. This challenging and important position involves inspecting and monitoring medical marijuana facilities to ensure compliance with regulations and laws. The work will also involve engaging in exercises and activities to promote compliance and oversight of various aspects of medical marijuana production and distribution. As a Safety Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective development and delivery of medical marijuana to patients and researchers. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Safety Inspector, you will ensure that all Medical Marijuana Organizations are operating in compliance with regulations and laws set by the Bureau of Medical Marijuana. You will conduct both physical and administrative inspections to review the operational status, alterations, and overall compliance of the organization. Inspections will cover a variety of aspects, such as the handling of seeds, clones, plants, and processing materials, as well as the general facility sanitation and storage practices. If any deficiencies are found, you will draft a notice and work with the organization to ensure corrections are made. Additionally, you will communicate with organizations to provide technical assistance and guidance on how to maintain compliance with regulations. Travel for this position is within Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Cambria, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Somerset, Washington, Westmoreland, Cameron, Clarion, Clearfield, Crawford, Elk, Erie, Forest, Jefferson, Lawrence, McKean, Mercer, Venango, and Warren counties.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • Telework: This is a home headquartered position which will require you to be headquartered at your home and travel to worksites to complete your work duties. In order to be home headquartered, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the Safety Inspector Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or

  • One year of experience inspecting commercial, industrial, healthcare or other buildings or structures, machines, apparatus, devices or equipment for compliance with applicable safety codes and regulations;or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Condition of Employment:

  • You must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
