Caterpillar Inc. seeks Sr. Digital Product Owner at its facility located at 501 SW Jefferson Avenue, Peoria, IL 61601.

Job Description:

The Sr. Digital Product Owner will work intimately with the Scrum Master and the Development Team with the primary task of creating and managing the Product Backlog and to ensure everyone knows the priorities. Will hold responsibility for maximizing the value of the product and the work of the Development Teams as well as for acting as Product Owner for larger, more complex projects with high value to the organization. Will create, maintain, and prioritize the Product Backlog according to business value for the life of the project. Will communicate Product Backlog priorities to the team and act as the key decision-maker regarding what features the product will have. Will convey the vision and goals at the beginning of every sprint, work with key stakeholders throughout the organization, and hold decision-making responsibility on release dates and content. Will represent the customer, and interface and engage with the customer as well as participate in Daily Scrum as needed. Will participate in Sprint Planning meetings, Reveals and Retrospective as well as inspect the product progress at the end of every Sprint and accept or reject the work that has been done by the Development Team. Will serve as a good role model of Scrum values; understand the framework and the roles of each team member. Will be a champion for the agile community and help to further the community within the organization. Telecommuting: 3 days/week. Multiple openings.

Requirements:

This position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent foreign degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field, plus seven (7) years of experience as an Application Developer Specialist, QA Analyst, or other related role serving in a project management or team lead role. Alternatively, employer will accept a master’s degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field, plus five (5) years of experience as an Application Developer Specialist, QA Analyst, or other related role serving in a project management or team lead role.

Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Gathering requirements from both internal and external stakeholders; (2) Each phase of the software development life cycle (analysis, design, implementation, deployment and support); (3) Working collaboratively with internal team members to ensure client deliverables surrounding development and data delivery are met; (4) Project management experience and integration with project management systems; and (5) SCRUM experience and experience with software tools and technologies, including specifically: HTML, Java Script, SOAP & REST web services.
