Job Summary: The Team Lead I will assist theProduction Team to ensure attainment of safety, quality, delivery and cost goals. The Team Lead I is a proven self-starter, multi tasker and mentor with a demonstrated ability to work independently or in an advanced team role. The Team Lead I is required to be signed off on all Level I, II, III and IV Work Instructions for their factory.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Managing the day-to-day activities of the team

  2. Motivating the team to achieve organizational goals

  3. Delegating tasks and or assignments to team members

  4. Conducts training of team members to maximize their potential

  5. Empowering team members with skills to improve their confidence, product knowledge, and communication skills

  6. Creating a pleasant working environment that inspires the team

  7. Maintain orderly flow of parts and provide direct supervision and assistance to cell/line personnel

  8. Provide hands on instruction and assistance to cell/line personnel

  9. Approximately 80% of time is spent performing tasks similar to those of employees under their leadership

  10. Maintain production records

  11. Contribute to Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement goals

  12. Keep area clean by ensuring housekeeping in, and around building is maintained

  13. Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  1. High School diploma or GED

  2. Good communication skills, both oral and written

  3. Ability to establish credibility and be decisive

  4. Good organizational skills

  5. Ability to be attentive to accuracy and detail

  6. Good record keeping skills

  7. Demonstrated dedication to Safety Procedures

  8. Must be able to act responsibly and sensibly during stressful situations

  9. Good interpersonal skills

  10. Ability to follow projects through to completion

  11. Ability to read and follow instructions carefully

  12. Must display basic mathematic proficiency

  13. Ability to work in team environment

  14. Must have the ability to perform a wide variety of duties with minimal supervision

  15. Must be proficient with MS office, including Word and Excel

  16. Must display positive leadership attributes and experience

  17. Strong organizational skills to give the team direction

  18. Must have predictable onsite attendance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  1. Must submit to and pass a drug test pursuant to Company Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes random testing

  2. Must have good vision (may be corrected)

  3. Must be able to sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods of time

  4. Must have stamina to work more than the scheduled workday when needed; including nights and weekends

  5. May move materials weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally

  6. Manual dexterity

  7. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (<85 dBA), however in some instances this job may require work in areas where ear protection is necessary

  8. Must be able to endure fumes that are within OSHA accepted standards
