DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: JOB DESCRIPTION AVP, Tax Transformation
Job Description: The position requires a team player who is technical, organized, and responsive and can handle multiple projects while producing accurate and timely results. The primary responsibilities of the position will include the documentation, design, and implementation of transformational tools to support US domestic, international, and state tax return compliance and tax accounting for insurance & non-insurance companies.
Responsibilities: * Oversee and drive analytics capability through our current business intelligence tool set. The role will also be responsible to drive improvements in business insights, efficiencies and enable a culture of self service in the department * Work alongside a team of highly capable and technical tax staff to produce higher quality information in a shorter time cycle with less manual intervention * Review current processes and procedures involving major data collection and manipulation, understand pain points of these processes, and adjust or re-design them to increase efficiency and reduce manual input * Recommend and implement improvements to tax return compliance and tax accounting processes * Coach, mentor and develop staff, including any new recruits, to improve their performance and meet senior management's expectations on productivity, quality, and targets/goals * Projects may involve optimization/redesign of existing processes and document flows, as well as ground-up approach on any new initiatives
Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Information Systems * Master's Degree, or other applicable advanced degree preferred * 5-10 years of tax transformation experience, with primary experience servicing large, multinational corporate clients - insurance tax experience a plus * Experience with tax transformation/analytical tools such as such as Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, Qlik etc. * Proficient in the MS Office Suite (Excel / Word / Outlook / PowerPoint / SharePoint). * Experience in Longview Provision and/or Corptax Compliance a plus * Strong oral and written communication skills * Team player with solid work ethic who is creative, proactive, and able to handle multiple projects while meeting deadlines
