ESG (ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL, AND GOVERNANCE) SPECIALIST

The ESG Specialist, will be responsible for helping ensure Carpenter is positioned for and responsive to the growing expectations among internal and external stakeholders for transparent reporting on our environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives. Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Development & Investor Relations, the ESG Specialist will work with people across functions, including the Corporate Counsel, Chief HR Officer, and Vice President OF Environmental, Health & Safety. The role's portfolio will include measuring and tracking progress across ESG goals, engaging with the ESG ratings firms, and producing formal and informal reporting initiatives (e.g., sustainability report, website, intranet, ad hoc inquiries, etc.).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE ESG SPECIALIST Build the company's ESG tracking and reporting function in collaboration with key stakeholders. Collaborate with internal teams to determine and prioritize the Company's near-term and long-range ESG vision. Maintain the ESG roadmap and project plan, driving accountability for achievement of goals and metrics. Assist with creating and implementing communication strategies in collaboration with investor relations, brand & marketing and internal communications teams to publicize the company's sustainability efforts and promote broad awareness of sustainability initiatives, both internally and externally. Manage responses to rating agencies and surveys, including ISS and Sustainalytics. Coordinate with commercial team to manage responses to customer inquiries. Coordinate reporting for social impact and green initiatives. Coordinate the sourcing and validation of ESG data and content for reporting and responses to stakeholder queries. Maintain expertise in global ESG trends and standards and educate internal stakeholders as changes occur. Review and summarize ESG industry reports and aggregate information from various data sources. Compile disclosures and data for use by senior management in meetings and discussions with investors and rating agencies. Provide senior management with feedback and recommendations related to discussions with the investment community, and other advisors, regarding events and changes within the ESG landscape. Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED FOR THE ESG SPECIALIST Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as environmental management, economics, international development, or policy required. Master's degree preferred. Excellent project management and organizational skills. Track record working and earning trust with a diverse set of stakeholders. Attention to detail and the ability to work successfully in an ambiguous and fast-moving environment, to meet tight deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Problem Solving - Experience solving problems that cross functions and/or disciplines.
