POSITION TITLE: Kimpton Food and Beverage Management Intern Date: Spring / Summer 2024 ACCOUNTABILITY: Food and Beverage Managers POSITION SUMMARY: The primary objective for our Spring/Summer Interns is to provide a solid foundation and understanding of hospitality from a multiple outlet food and beverage program. OVERVIEW OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Operational Management - Staff meetings, Manager meetings, daily line up / pre-shift meetings - Weekly to-do lists, daily checklists, side work lists for staff, daily floorplan - Create par lists for inventory management - Scheduling - Shadowing of the different management positions and frontline positions - Learn/execute service in all roles including hosting/serving/bartending Communication - Email dialogue with both on property and corporate department representatives - Coordinate between departments -- Front Desk, Restaurant, Engineering, Accounting, Marketing, Catering and Banquets. Marketing - PR meetings - Assist in creating design briefs for marketing collateral - Email and SMS campaigns Food & Beverage - Menu engineering -- Food menu, Drink menu, Bottle service menu, Beer menu, High-end spirit menu - Create quizzes for staff training purposes Events and Promotions - New concepts / brainstorming sessions - Event management both internal and 3rd party Event Management companies Job Requirements: To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty exceptionally. Skills Needed: * Must emulate the Kimpton Culture * Ability to think creatively and adapt to the dynamic needs of the Kimpton Hotels and the marketplace * Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written * Excellent command of the English language both writing and verbal communication skills, computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office * Self-starter with both a collaborative and hands-on approach Language Skills: * Proficient at all levels of English, including reading, writing, and speaking Education: Candidate for a bachelor's degree in Hotel Administration, Business Administration, or a similar specialization Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and build formulas using excel is a required skill set Hours of Operation: 40 hours per week. Schedule will change on business demands. Will be required to work some evenings and weekends. Position will report to the General Manager of Food and Beverage.
