A Brief Overview The Logistics Operations Manager leads, supports, and directs various aspects of the materials management and supply chain operations for CHOP location/s as assigned. The Logistics Operations Manager will ensure the efficient and smooth operations for inventory management, supply distribution, linen, and mail, and other Supply Chain responsibilities by implementing and supporting clear processes and data setup.

The Logistics Operations Manager will lead a team of resources supporting daily operations and project execution. The Logistics Manager will understand and progress the strategic initiatives of CHOP and the supply chain department as well as support site leadership through collaborative relationships and stakeholder management. The Logistics Operations Manager will maintain and support operational KPI, demonstrating effective operations and achieving target SLAs while implementing programs for progressive improvement.

The Logistics Operations Manager must be detail, action, and results oriented and must demonstrate mature judgment in managing responsibilities. This role may serve as a subject matter expert for specific areas of supply chain focus through the implementation of specific procedures, policies, and serving as an advisor to other individuals or departments. The Logistics Operations Manager will be knowledgeable in, and partner with, other areas of Supply Chain including contracting, procurement, technology & services and value analysis in support of strategic and operational goals. What you will do Strategy * Assists with the development of the departmental strategic plan * Continually evaluate and implement processes to meet defined service expectations and metrics as defined by Director of Supply Chain Logistics * Keeps abreast of industry best practices related to healthcare Supply Chain. Possesses knowledge of industry trends related to all aspects of Supply Chain Logistics, including supply distribution, inventory management, linen & laundry and mailroom. * Can serve as departmental SME for logistics operations, working across assigned site to ensure standard practices are implemented. * Defines and implements Supply Chain best practices. Operational Management * Responsible for daily operations and direct reports, assuring inventory accuracy and availability of stock supplies, linen and equipment to support clinical and business operations. * Maintain and support all inventory management processes and data including: perpetual and non-perpetual locations across assigned site. Track accuracy and appropriateness of inventory levels to avoid waste, obsolescence and to manage associated freight expenses. * Coordinate cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy, providing justification and root cause for variances. * Coordinates an conducts annual physical inventory. Follows standard practices for inventory counts and involves Internal Audit. * Establishes and maintains par levels for supplies and linens to meet clinical demands within ERP and POU systems * Works collaboratively with 3rd party distribution team to ensure accuracy in inventory and receiving transaction * Oversees all internal mail services for assigned location/s. Coordinates with other SC Operations Managers to ensure timely deliver at all CHOP locations, including the Philadelphia and King of Prussia Campuses as well as CHOP's ambulatory network. * Works to resolve issues; oversees root cause analysis to continuously improve processes and services * Develops and tracks metrics related to staff productivity, costs and customer satisfaction to drive to optimal efficiency. * Establishes and maintains the department's quality assurance, safety, environmental, infection control, performance improvement, and regulatory programs to ensure compliance and consistency in sterilization policies and procedures. Participates in Environment of Care rounding as assigned. * Implements sustainable measures for ensuring ongoing regulatory readiness. Develops plans in conjunction with Occupational Health and Safety to mitigate safety risks * Oversight of the sleep surfaces program at assigned site * Partners with Supply Chain colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders to establish and maintain positive business relationships. * Monitors vendor performance through the establishment and utilization of metrics and KPIs. * Creates a system to collect regular and timely feedback on services rendered. Trends data and demonstrates upward movement of customer satisfaction. * Conducts regular rounding on patient care areas as assigned. Conducts regular service rounds to determine effectiveness and compliance. Leadership * Directs and coordinates staff in the logistics teams at assigned site. * Partners with Human Resources to ensure all correct interpretation/implementation and application of Hospital Policies and Collective Bargaining Agreement. * Identifies opportunities for employee engagement activities and ensures smooth coordination across all shifts and sites. * Collaborates with Supply Chain leadership to develop a comprehensive and thorough orientation and training program to retain a talented and diverse workforce. * Develops and coordinates best practice techniques and coordinates in-services and training for staff to maintain safety and efficiency. * Supports the development and achievement of professional and personal goals for supply chain staff and self. Enables employee development and growth by building out individual skills, knowledge, and experience to ensure team members can effectively help each other and maximize the team's collective ability to advance defined objectives. Provides timely feedback and coaching to encourage optimal performance and engagement. * Models CHOP's ICare values. Holds others accountable for living these values. Process Improvement/Project Management * Responsible for all aspects of project management as it logistics operations. * Works directly with the Supply Chain Capital & Construction and Value Analysis (CHOPtimize) teams to coordinate efforts related to department moves, new construction and supply conversions. * Collaborates with clinical teams and other support services departments to oversee or participate in projects that improve processes and directly impact patient care as well as the patient/family experience * Serve as a subject matter expert for logistics operations * Supports organizational an
