Honeywell APU Material Management Lead in Phoenix, Arizona

The ideal candidate will have the experience and skills to manage the scheduling, material planning, production planning, inventory control, shipping/receiving and stores functions at the Phoenix Sky Harbor Repair and Overhaul center of excellence. She or he will develop and execute the annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly materials provisioning plan for one of our five value streams (Engines; Auxiliary Power Units, Outside Procurement; or Systems, Components & Accessories). This leader will also engage with colleagues in our Aerospace Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) organization, especially within Global Planning, SIOP, Operations, Engineering, Quality and Customer Support functions. Behaviorally, the Production Manager will be comfortable working autonomously to achieve objectives; coach and supervise a team; and drive functional excellence and continuous improvement of materials planning processes. Organizationally, the Production Scheduling Manager will report to the Phoenix Sky Harbor R&O Director of Materials Management and perform as a key member of the site extended leadership team. Regular engagement with all levels of the company, from executives to non-exempt contract workers, will be the norm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision, coaching and leadership for a team of Material Planners, Material Coordinators and Logistics Technicians

  • Planning, procuring, and assigning parts for our time critical customer repair order – you will “Clear Gate-2” in order to send parts to the floor for completion, for one or two of our five value streams

  • Deploy the Honeywell Operating System in the Materials Team at the Phoenix Sky Harbor R&O factory

  • Monitor material plans to hold firm alignment with demand and financial requirements – work with high sense of urgency to clear our repair orders through “Gate-2” readiness to release to the shop floor

  • Manage recovery plans between procurement and the production schedule when problems arise

  • Engage n SIOP process with key focus on balancing fill rate with working capital

  • Material Scheduling and Master Production Schedule management

  • Oversee flow of materials for new production introduction (NPI) activities

  • Develop talent on the team

  • Role model leadership of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) and AS-9100 based quality system compliance

  • Work mostly onsite, usually 5 days per week, with some remote and weekend work required.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 5+ years’ experience in Integrated Supply Chain (Materials Management, Operations, Purchasing), including 3+ years’ experience in an aviation manufacturing and/or repair & overhaul environment.

  • 3+ years in materials purchasing, planning and coordinating experience

  • Proficiency with material and enterprise resource planning (MRP, ERP) systems such as SAP or Infor-LN

  • Advanced data management and analytical skills MS-Excel, MS-Access, MiniTab, etc)

  • Impeccable personal ethics – willingness lead with integrity in a challenging, time-critical environment

  • Familiarity with military and Federal Aviation Administration requirements (14CFR Part 145 – REPAIR STATIONS; and Part 43 - MAINTENANCE, PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE, REBUILDING, AND ALTERATION) for servicing aircraft turbines and components

  • A graduate degree is not required but will differentiate strong candidate
