Job Description

In this position you will join the new Mfg Development QnR organization - Playing a key role in enabling various collaborations Intel has with external companies and customizing existing foundry process offerings to meet new customers' requirements.

You will be part of the team developing the process for the current and future Intel Foundry initiatives process in the various Intel fabs - Partnering with Fab, FEC (Fab Eng and Customization), IFS (Intel Foundry) and many QnR teams (TD, PQN and HVM) to develop and modify the Back-End interconnect process so the interconnect, MIM, and other devices will meet the quality and reliability performance goals.

In this role you will:

  • Conduct and analyze electrical tests to quantify interconnects reliability behavior and identify failure modes that may limit the technology.

  • Develop physics-based and empirical compact models that will be delivered to the Foundry customers design teams to ensure overall product reliability.

Responsibilities may include but not be limited to:

  • Guiding manufacturing process development to ensure the technology interconnect will meet all reliability requirements (Electromigration, BE TDDB, MIM, BTS, metal fuse).

  • Design and execute experiments to validate BE reliability models.

  • Develop risk assessments and making quality and reliability predictions based on data collected using statistical principles and design of experiments fundamentals.

We are a very agile and lean team, working under tight schedule, looking for candidates that can operate in everchanging, dynamic and challenging (yet rewarding) environment.

This role will potentially quickly grow to include technical managerial scope.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, Material Science, Physics or related field of study.

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor device physics with good understanding of backend fab process.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or related field of study.

  • Previous work experience as Si Foundry Backend QnR or Integration Eng and a role facing external customers.

  • Experience in big data processing.

  • Experience in experimental design execution and interpretation.

  • Experience with semiconductor device fabrication integration and characterization.

  • Experience with electrical measurement equipment in characterizing semiconductor devices e.g. HP4156C, B1500 or similar SPA, oscilloscope, function generators, etc.

  • Experience in VLSI circuit design including analog and digital.

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
