U-Haul Senior Financial Analyst in Phoenix, Arizona

The U-Haul Financial Analysis department plays a critical role in driving informed decision-making and financial performance at U-Haul International. Our team is responsible for a wide range of activities, including:

· Valuation Analysis:

o Conducting comprehensive valuation analysis for all potential acquisitions, ensuring accurate financial assessments prior to presentation at the monthly real estate board meeting.

o Utilizing advanced financial models and industry benchmarks to evaluate investment opportunities and provide insightful recommendations to senior management.

· Financial Performance Reporting:

o Compiling, error-checking, and distributing monthly financial performance reports for our lenders.

o Ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial data, allowing stakeholders to make informed decisions based on reliable information.

· Financial and Operational Reporting and Analysis:

o Completing detailed financial and operational reporting, enabling strategic insights and performance evaluation across multiple departments, including Real Estate, Construction, Storage, and Sales.

o Conducting forecasting, budgeting, and various standardized and ad hoc analyses to support internal stakeholders in their decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

· Financial Analysis and Reporting:

o Lead the financial analysis process, including ad hoc analysis, forecasting, and reporting.

o Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights to key stakeholders.

o Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, presentations, and ad hoc analysis for senior management and other departments.

o Conduct profitability analysis, evaluate investment opportunities, and recommend appropriate financial strategies.

· Data Analysis and Visualization:

o Utilize tools such as Python, SQL, VBA, Excel, and Power BI to manipulate, analyze, and visualize financial data effectively.

o Develop automated solutions and tools to streamline data analysis and reporting processes.

o Ensure data accuracy and integrity while creating insightful dashboards and reports for executive-level presentations.

· Team Leadership and Development:

o Supervise and mentor a team of financial analysts, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-quality work.

o Set performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide constructive feedback to team members.

o Promote a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

o Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in financial analysis and apply relevant insights to enhance team effectiveness.

· Process Improvement and Efficiency:

o Identify opportunities to streamline financial analysis processes and improve efficiency through automation or process enhancements.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or CFA designation is a plus.

· Proven experience (5+ years) in financial analysis, preferably in a managerial or mentorship role.

· Strong knowledge of financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.

· Proficiency in Python, SQL, VBA, Excel, and Power BI for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

· Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on coaching and developing team members.
