Responsible for design, develop, delivery, and maintenance of enterprise and local applications, and core reusable components. Design enterprise-wide applications framework utilizing deep understanding of applications architecture, enterprise application integration, and multi-party application collaboration. Understand the business practices of customers within the business unit and adapt appropriate systems solutions to business problems or requirements. Understand the activities of the various functions within the applicable business unit(s) to provide the best solutions to system problems or requests. Design solutions that make business processes more efficient to satisfy the customer. Ensure that appropriate change control processes for deliverables are followed. Provide technical evaluations of packaged products or new technologies. Ensure that all application and integration deliverables are thoroughly tested by coordinating with business analysts, Quality Assurance, and architecture teams. Work closely with production operations and build and deployment teams to ensure smooth deployment of application components in all environments. Estimate, design, code, and test software components and framework to be used in enterprise or local applications, while adhering to standards defined in the design and development phases of the Matson SDLC. Write code that is efficient and easily maintained, and develop technical documentation as defined within the SDLC. Perform on-call responsibilities for production support of critical applications as required.

Education Required: Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Information Systems Engineering and Management, Computer Science, or related field

Special Requirements: Must have advanced level coursework or project background in the following:

1. Web applications using at least three of the following technologies: J2EE framework, JBoss server, Tomcat, JSP, JavaScript, HTML, XML, SQL, and/or Oracle database.
2. Web services and SOA architecture using AXIS to communicate between distributed applications.
3. Performing application process, flow, and modeling using software development methodologies RUP and UML.
4. Performing software analysis, evaluation, and development using programming languages including Java and J2EE.
5. Performing development activities using at least two of the following technologies: Struts, Spring, Hibernate, iBatis, JBoss EAP, Tomcat, iReport, PL/SQL, webservices, AJAX, and/or JavaScript.
6. Creating, updating, reading, or deleting operations on databases including Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server.

Some telecommuting permitted (hybrid).

Salary: \$102,294 to \$145,105 per year
