Intel VP Factory Manager of Fab Sort Manufacturing in Phoenix, Arizona

Job Description

Fab Sort Manufacturing (FSM) is responsible for the production of all internal Intel silicon using some of the world's most advanced manufacturing processes. With fabs (short for fabrication facilities) in Arizona, Ireland, Israel, Oregon and 2 new greenfield in Ohio / Germany, FSM operates as a highly coordinated virtual factory network, supporting multiple technology nodes for all Intel products. FSM supports new product introductions (NPIs) for all new products entering the high volume fabs, evaluates performance of each product to enable supply commits and approves risk start memos (RSMs) for all products that begin ramp in FSM factories ahead of production qualification.

FSM is in the midst of an exciting time of growth, delivering output in support of Intel's revenue and preparing for our IDM2.0 strategy. Future technologies are expected to be in HVM at a 2-year cadence going-forward and Intel is planning to grow in new site locations in Ohio and Magdeburg, Germany. Becoming a foundry of choice is part of FSM's business strategy. With the multitude of technologies expected to be in production for Intel manufacturing and foundry and the complexity of ramping newer nodes with breakthrough technologies like EUV it is important that FSM has the leadership and capabilities to help steer the organization to win and collaborate across the FSM factory network and in the foundry business.

As part of our IDM2.0 strategy FSM is expanding in brownfield sites and starting new greenfield sites. Intel's strategy also includes becoming a key foundry player in the industry and FSM will manufacture for foundry. This job requisition is to seek a senior leader for a Factory Manager position in the Arizona site reporting to the FSM General Managers. This position is a Vice President (VP) role in the FSM organization.

Each FSM Fab site has 3000+ employees and is currently responsible for introducing new products and processing 22nm/14nm/10nm/7nm advanced micro processors, with a wide variety of products including Client, Data Center and Chipsets through the full silicon process flow. The responsibility will also include Foundry manufacturing operations. The successful candidate must be capable and interested in personally leading the factory operations on a daily basis. Hands on involvement in operations is required.

The factory manager is responsible for all areas of managing their organiation including but not limited to;

Safety: FSM has a complex manufacturing environment with safety as the top priority

Quality: Delivering products that meet our quality commitments to customers and continuously learning to reduce and eliminate excursions

Line Velocity: Lead and strive to achieve 1DPML high line velocity

Output: The day-to-day output/NPIs from the factories and the commits process partnering across the network to enable meeting our customer commits & improving cycle time

Cost: Managing a multi-million $ budget with a goal to get to world-class wafer-cost

Preparation for Foundry manufacturing; Ensuring structures, capabilities and business processes are designed and deployed to enable our vision on Foundry manufacturing.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or a related field. An MS or PHD is considered a plus.

15 years of direct factory experience with a strong technical background

10 years of management experience

Detailed understanding of model based problem solving as well as Fab process control systems and methodologies

Strong working knowledge of device physics and process technology and equipment

Strong working knowledge and financial discipline experience of operating in a P&L environment

Preferred Qualifications:

MS, or in a science or engineering field

10 years of direct factory management experience with a strong wafer fabrication technical background , direct engineering management experiences in High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) or Technology Development factories

Fab engineering experience 5nm/ 7nm / 10nm/ 14nm/ 22nm

Strong working knowledge of device physics and process technology and equipment

Foundry manufacturing and customer engagement experience from a technical perspective

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
