Machine Shop

Bring your experience and ideas and help us bring the highest quality products and service to our customers. This role will be an integral part of the manufacturing team. This position will lead and provide support to the Aeronautical Accessories Machine Shop and any other assigned teams by assisting departmental management, while also performing daily functional tasks and assignments.

What you’ll be doing as Machine Shop Lead

  • Prioritize workload and labor efficiency to assist the department manager in meeting department production schedules / expectations.

  • Assign and prioritize specific tasks.

  • Provide regular product status updates to manager and interested parties.

  • Fabricate and/or manufacture products for stock and customer demand.

  • Ensure productions standards are met and high-quality products are produced.

  • Ensure production area remains clean, FOD-free, and organized.

  • Lead team and provide technical guidance based on previous experience.

  • Assist with and solve complex problems as required.

  • Monitor and report performance of assigned employees.

  • Assist with discovery, root cause analysis, correction, and tracking on any product we experience challenges during the manufacturing process.

  • May create and sign Engineering Change Requests as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards, production standards, and Textron Business Conduct guidelines.

  • Demonstrate and promote Bell Piney Flats high performance team values at all times, and actively promote an environment of trust and mutual respect.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

  • Capable of standing for extended periods during the entire duration of shift.

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.

  • Flexibility to bend, stoop, and crouch as required for tasks.

  • Good vision, including the ability to focus on small details and identify defects.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding progress and potential issues.

  • Willingness to follow instructions and ask for clarification when needed.

Skills You Bring To this Role

Demonstrated self-motivation, strong sense of responsibly, multi-tasking skills.

  • Ability to lead production of multiple products with aggressive delivery schedules.

  • Ability to coordinate with other departments, and to communicate clearly with individuals at all levels of leadership.

  • Ability to read and understand technical data, process specifications, and drawings, and to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), including ability to review work orders and resources in material planning system.

  • Attention to detail, ability to follow instructions closely, & good organization skills.

What you need to be successful

4 years Aeronautical Accessories experience manufacturing aircraft products specific to lead duties:

  • Machining

  • CNC programming or operation

  • Manufacturing of tooling and fixtures

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Previous experience in a leadership role and/or directing a team.

  • Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
