Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Structural Project Manager for large design &/or design-build projects. They will have overall responsibility for highway bridge projects from design phases through providing technical support during the construction phases. This also includes project controls and client management.

The Senior Structural Project Manager will manage a portfolio of projects and assist in growing AECOM’s market share for client projects.

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Coordinate the technical content of the project with various disciplines (highway, bridge, environmental, traffic and public involvement, etc.) and supervise the subconsultants.

  • Interface with clients at meetings to discuss and coordinate the design.

  • Manage and lead the overall project including technical, financial, schedule, and client satisfaction.

  • Report to the senior management on the project status on a regular basis.

  • Establish scope, work plan and work schedule and ensure this is communicated to the Project Staff and Department Managers.

  • Comply with company’s safety awareness program and policies.

  • Manage groups of Engineers, Designers and/or Specialists towards development of design documents and contract deliverables with minimal guidance or supervision.

  • Assure conformance with contractual obligations by ensuring that contract documents are reviewed and approved prior to release to the client.

  • Train, mentor and develop staff Maximize profit while minimizing risk.

  • Manage marketing and proposal preparation.

  • Ensure that QA/QC procedures are being implemented and ensure the technical quality of documents as well as response to the clients comments.

  • Anticipate potential budget and schedule impacts and initiate plans for alternative actions.

  • Incorporate innovation in design and delivery.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering plus eight years of related design experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience &/or education

  • Active NY Professional Engineer (PE) license

  • Valid Driver's License

Preferred Requirements:

  • Recent Design-Build experience as a Lead Structural Engineer

  • Recent relevant experience with NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NYCDDC, PANYNJ

  • 15 years of related experience

  • Experience leading structural programs from design through construction

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $190,000.00 - $220,000.00.
