POSITION SUMMARY: The Accounts Payable Specialist focuses on the processes, transactions, and activities related to ensuring the timely and accurate payment of bills, invoices, requisitions, etc., in connection with the accounts payable functions.  Controls the organization's expenses and executes transactions by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices, receipts or other approved documentation of financial activity/transactions.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:  * Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.  * Organize and maintain financial records including filing of documents.  * Prepare batches of invoices for data entry and enter data.  * Monitor accounts to ensure payments and/or receipts are up to date.  * Generate reports as needed/requested.

Status: Full-time Location: Lawrenceville Workforce Development Center, 118 52nd St, Pittsburgh, PA 15201, USA

External Hiring Range: $41,745.00 up to $43,409.00/year

Schedule: Monday through Friday (8:00am -- 4:30pm) Schedule can vary depending on department needs. 

QUALIFICATIONS:  * High school diploma or equivalent AND 4 years of experience required OR.   * Associates' degree AND 2 years of experience required.

Preferred Degree(s): Accounting, Business Management, or related field. Required Experience: Must be related to accounts payable. Must have experience with Microsoft Office suite including excel. 

REQUIRED CLEARANCES, LICENSES, AND CERTIFICATIONS:  * Candidates are expected to provide current, valid clearances (Child Abuse, FBI Fingerprints, and PATCH) prior to first day of employment.
