Overall Purpose:

Provides general administrate support in the Asset Management Department in the form of safety, scheduling, budgeting, purchasing, equipment tracking, auditing, and data gathering.

Location: Hybrid, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Job Responsibilities:

Safety (10%)

  • Assists team in the coordination, collection, and preparation of internal safety processes and helps maintain records of department wide inspections, vehicle audits, and observations.

Overhead Inspection Support (60%)

  • Investigates historical inspection data on electrical assets as directed

  • Assist with QA/QC support on inspection data; contacts other departments to correct data/field issues when discovered

  • Assist with schedules and creates work orders within Duquesne Light’s work management system (Maximo)

  • Processes invoice payments/processing, records, maintenance of office supplies, etc.

  • Provides general data validation, creating reports, and updating schedules to support the Overhead Inspection Supervisor

  • Helps to create and organizes inspection data keeping year-to-year consistency and provides secondary copies of all completed inspection data

  • Participate in department wide schedule and budget reviews to ensure timely completion of projects or inspections

  • Assist with tracking, reviewing, and managing inspection equipment by sending it out for calibration and repairs

  • Assist with the management of field equipment, material, and other miscellaneous items

  • Assist with purchase requestions and purchase orders

General Asset Management Group Support (30%)

  • Call landowners to gain permission on private property for inspections.

  • Mail letters to customers regarding failed inspections or general finding concerns

  • Provide assistances throughout the department with data validation, data requests, and work order tracking.

  • Updates internal Geographic Information System (GIS) and Maximo assets as requested.

Education/Experience:

  • Roles at this level are often filled by recent university / college graduates with limited professional experience, but with relevant skills.

  • This level may include individuals joining the organization on a university / college graduate training program or those studying for a professional qualification or accreditation.

  • 2-3 years’ experience preferred.

  • Experience working in a bargaining unit environment preferred.

Skills and Experience Utilized in this Role Include:

  • A highly driven, self-motivated and enthusiastic person capable of communicating effectively.

  • Ability to read and review data quickly to understand it.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong computer skills and information system knowledge with experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Scope:

Primary focus is on daily deliverables, outputs, and reporting. Typically, accountable for managing one's own time and workflow. Responsible for using prescribed guidelines to analyze situations and solve problems. Work is typically of moderate complexity requiring the incumbent to draw on previous knowledge to perform role. Continues to build knowledge base and develop capabilities by partnering with more experienced staff as needed

Decision Impact:

Problems and issues faced are vague but may be recognizable based on past experience. Accountable for some direct level of reasoning and decision making in straightforward situations based on precedents.

Physical Requirements:

The work environment will include office and field, at various times. Current state driver's license.

Hybrid Work

Position follows our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.

Storm Roles

All Non-Union Employees will serve in storm roles as appropriate to their role and skillset. Utilize data to make business decisions as appropriate for the position, support data stewardship activities and partner with IT on underlying data needs.
