DESCRIPTION OF WORK A County Social Services Aide 2 (Client Interaction Specialist) assists in providing services to children, youth and families. In this role, you will accompany social services staff on visits to homes or institutions, assist with the completion of forms and clerical duties, and supervise interaction between children and parents, per casework instruction. Work is performed under the close supervision of a professional worker/supervisor and is reviewed through observation and results attained. The Client Interaction Specialist will become proficient in the Key Information Demographic System (KIDS), trip scheduling software, routing software such as Google Maps, Map Quest, etc. and other related software.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours: Position 1: Wednesday - Sunday 11:00 am - 7:00 pm Position 2: Friday - Tuesday 11:00 am - 7:00 pm Position 3: Sunday - Thursday 12:00 pm - 8:00pm Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a County Social Services Aide 1; or Graduation from high school, or its equivalency, and two years of experience in public contact work in a human services agency which included one year of experience in interviewing and obtaining information; or An associate's degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.

Other Requirements: This particular position requires possession of a valid driver's license. Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Allegheny County. If no eligible candidates who live within Allegheny County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
