UPMC Digital Marketing Intern in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

UPMC Corporate Marketing is hiring a Digital Marketing Intern for Summer 2025. This intern will support day-to-day efforts of the Digital Health Tools team and help implement strategic marketing initiatives for UPMC’s patient portals and apps, telemedicine functions, online scheduling capabilities, as well as other projects and programs. In this role, you will learn first-hand how health care is embracing digital tools and assist in delivering knowledge and understanding to patients and staff about how these tools can increase access to care. You will also research other health system initiatives that fall under this area and use your knowledge and understanding to develop unique ways to engage patient populations in utilizing the digital health tools UPMC provides.

The Digital Marketing Intern will work Monday through Friday during the hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The position pays at a standard rate of $20 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Working cross-collaboratively with a variety of UPMC departments to understand products and programs that fall under Digital Health Tools offerings.

  • Working to improve and optimize the user experience across UPMC’s digital properties.

  • Drafting content for UPMC’s digital properties around Digital Health Tools offerings.

  • Assessing Digital Health Tools related educational materials and drafting updates for future iterations.

  • Tracking and reviewing Apple App store and Google Play store reviews.

  • Working with the team to present weekly project updates and successes.

  • Preparing and monitoring project requirements, timelines, budgets, and other relevant documentation for assigned projects.

  • Proofreading and providing feedback on team projects.

  • Analytics tracking and reporting.

  • Maintaining current industry knowledge and trends.

  • Working toward or recently completed a bachelor’s degree, with a focus in marketing, communications, business, psychology or information technology preferred.

  • Basic understanding of UPMC's website structure and navigation from a user perspective.

  • Interest in analytics management, tracking, and reporting.

  • Capable of managing multiple projects while working independently as well as on a team.

  • Interest in marketing communications, user-experience marketing, web-based program management, design, development or related field required.

  • Must be a self-starter with strong interpersonal as well as oral and written communications skills.

  • Experience with customer service and account management.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
