Faculty Actions Manager

The Faculty Actions Manager provides high-quality, executive-level administrative oversight and guidance for the Dean of the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences and the College of General Studies as well as to the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and the Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Recruitment. The incumbent is responsible for managing all faculty actions on behalf of the Dean's Office and will coordinate high-level activities for processing faculty actions including recruitment, leaves, AS promotions, reappointments, and terminations. Serves as a leader and liaison to various offices across the University including all the academic departments and programs within the Dietrich School, CGS, Human Resources Shared Services, Offices of the Provost, General Counsel, and the Office for Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion for compliance with university policy and procedures on all faculty initiatives. Administrative support to the Associate Deans includes drafting correspondence and reporting.

Job Summary

Manages and reviews all faculty action requests. Reviews and interprets University bylaws, policies, and guidelines and provides operational support to employees. Advises on procedures and action approvals. Facilitates high-visibility development initiatives.

Essential Functions

Communication skills must be clear and concise for interpersonal relationships within departments, the university community, and external contacts. Ability to work with large volumes of actions and demanding deadlines, maintaining an extremely high level of accuracy. Ability to interpret data and accurately enter it into database system. Ability to use a computer and a variety of software programs including Word, Excel, and other customized programs within the Dean's Office.

Physical Effort

Position is mainly sedentary, but must be able to move around campus for meetings or attending events.
