Qualitative Research Coordinator

The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Critical Care Medicine is seeking a Qualitative Research Coordinator to provide research support to several qualitative research studies related to health care delivery in hospital settings. The primary job duties include coordination of participant outreach, transcribing audio recordings of research interviews, and supporting key team goals related to data management and study coordination.

Candidate will be called upon to manage and transcribe audio files, such as interviews and focus groups, for multiple ongoing grant funded research projects related to critical care delivery. Duties include following established transcription and de-identification protocols and adhering to accuracy and ethical standards.

Candidate will also support participant outreach and tracking for multiple studies, including managing participant payments. Candidate will contact potential research participants using a pre-written script and coordinate and schedule interviews with the study team. Candidate will also help prepare outreach scripts and track participant data throughout the process of data collection.

Job Summary

Executes protocol-related research procedures, activities, outreach, and education. Manages a complex program or study or multiple programs and studies. Collects and analyzes data and complies with all policies and regulations. Recommends improvements to policy and procedure.

Essential Functions

Incumbent may use judgement in completion of tasks within the scope of the job description and established practices and procedures. For example, deciding how to schedule interviews in order to ensure that appropriate team members are available to conduct the interviews, or how to communicate specifics of the interview while maintaining confidentiality.

Primarily sedentary.
