DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: As Strategic Sourcing Specialist , you are responsible for operationally managing the USCA Material Handling Equipment (MHE) category of spend and be part of the Indirect Procurement Operations team, reporting to the USCA Procurement Operations Manager, while having a dotted line to the Global Sourcing Manager responsible for MHE. The role involves negotiating local agreements that optimize the total value for PPG with established purchasing policies. He / She will be responsible for managing projects and supplier relationships that align to the agreed global strategies

Key Responsibilities * Work alongside the Global Sourcing Manager and Procurement Operations Manager to develop and implement the global and regional MHE procurement strategy, liaise with Functional stakeholders to analyze requirements, manage the relationship with approved suppliers, drive and influence best practices in this category of spend. * Prepare annual category plans to align with the global and USCA strategy and develop regional strategic sourcing projects, using the PPG strategic sourcing process. * Identify and implement solutions to drive incremental cost savings and cost avoidance opportunities through category knowledge and assess, optimize, and implement bid projects that meet the PPG production plants MHE requirements. * Utilize various purchasing electronic tools including spend management software to submit RFIs, RFPs, Reverse auctions to strategically source global suppliers. * Work closely with the Sustainability team on agreed initiatives and ensure that targets are reached and monitored. * Develop communication reviews with the regional leadership and stakeholders and review critical suppliers, upcoming projects, and ultimately have a good understanding of the forward business needs. * Continually evaluate supplier performance with a global viewpoint to identify opportunities for cost savings and improvements. Configuring performance management of critical suppliers. * Foster and utilize world class purchasing practices that comply with all PPG's Corporate Purchasing Policies.

Qualifications * Bachelor's degree, relevant procurement qualifications or direct work experience in the field with minimum five years of experience in Manufacturing related strategic sourcing * Minimum two years of experience in regional or global project management with proven records of accomplishment. * Proficiency with establishing contracts, monitoring performance and issue resolution. * Ability to act with autonomy, with strong analytical skills, proactive, hands-on and results oriented. Embraces getting the job done and is a finisher / completer. * Ability to speak effectively before groups of vendors, customers, or employees of the organization, influence and manage conflicts throughout the regional organization. * Structured in initiating and leading change through cross-functional teams. * Ability to use relevant tools to create reverse auctions and RFPs and manage vendor responses and bids to help maximize value. Training on the e-tool will be provided to the successful candidate.
