Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The role involves manually filling prescriptions, replenishing medications for automated dispensing stations, packaging medications, and stocking packages. You will be responsible for maintaining pharmacy systems and technology, ensuring accurate data and system compliance, and supporting facility reporting and paperwork to ensure productivity and pharmaceutical integrity.
Responsibilities
Manually fill prescriptions.
Replenish medications for automated dispensing stations.
Maintain pharmacy systems and technology by preparing informational records and reports, monitoring inventory levels and expiration dates, and troubleshooting pill cell issues.
Track medication inventory by sorting, placing, and storing freight, restocking and replenishing medication, reporting low stock levels, and ensuring stock rotation.
Support facility with reporting and paperwork by entering and modifying pharmaceutical data, processing and submitting paperwork, and preparing reports of pharmacy activities and inventory.
Ensure fulfillment of pharmacy prescriptions in an automated central fill pharmacy by identifying and selecting pharmaceutical products, verifying size and strength, labeling prescriptions, and preparing packages for distribution.
Essential Skills
Active Pharmacy Technician license.
Pharmacy Technician certification.
Registered Pharmacy Technician in Indiana.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
Certification from PTCB or NHA (ExCPT).
Work Environment
This is a fast-paced production environment requiring a high level of attention to detail. The facility prepares and packages prescriptions for retail pharmacies, without direct customer service or vaccine administration. Shifts rotate weekly, with 1st shift from 6 AM to 4:15 PM and 2nd shift from 4 PM to 2:15 AM, working 4 days, 10-hour shifts. Most 2nd shift schedules include Sunday and Friday. The facility is closed on Thanksgiving and other specific holidays. The team includes approximately 200 employees, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, shipping/receiving coordinators, and managers.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.50/hr.
