Connected Technologies is a group within Toyota, focused on delivering industry-leading user experiences and new technologies for our Toyota and Lexus vehicles. We’re looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Software Engineer - Payments Platform Lead for our Subscriptions team.

In this role, you will be responsible for building a strong engineering culture at Connected Technologies (CT) to develop state-of-the-art mobile & backend applications and infrastructure. This position requires leadership experience and proven knowledge of software development processes to drive team activities with the understanding of requirements and business drivers for new products and solutions!

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide technical leadership to build high-quality performant solutions that scale well conforming to internal and industry standards.

  • Manage internal and external dependencies, collaborate with stakeholders and product managers, operations, and customer research teams to deliver Toyota's business objectives.

  • Maintain and improve existing codebases and contribute technically to the overall engineering processes.

  • Review, design, and vet architecture, and system design to solve complex distributed system problems with scale and security.

  • Collaborate with Senior Management, Product Managers, Tech Leads, and UI/UX to help build backlogs for product.

  • Identify and encourage adoption of new technologies, tools, and processes for the organization as needed.

  • Unblock Engineers and ensure project milestones are met.

What you bring:

  • Extensive experience in building software products and have worked in AWS stack with strong exposure to cloud DevOps model.

  • Proven years of lead development experience in building enterprise distributed systems specially focused in retail or automotive related domain.

  • Experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems catering to consumer products with languages such as Java, Golang, and JavaScript.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to both your team members and your project peers.

  • Demonstrated success influencing senior-level stakeholders on strategic direction based on recommendations backed by in-depth analysis.

  • Must possess a track record of delivering new products and iteratively improving them over time.

Added bonus if you have:

  • Prior knowledge of working in subscription & billing domain is highly desirable and have exposure in technical leadership of building enterprise scale systems.

  • Strong subscription domain knowledge in building or supporting applications related.

  • Demonstrated experience managing and coaching technical teams.
