Summary:The Traveling Carpenter has knowledge of various carpentry techniques and is responsible for layout, installation, repairing, and finishing of buildings. The Carpenter will install cabinets, shelving, drywall and insulation while also adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks and hinges. A successful Carpenter is hardworking, reliable, and be detail oriented. This position requires travel of 75% or more to project locations across the US.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Traveling out of town to work on job sites as directed by management.
Reading blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements.
Taking measurements and calculating the size and amount of material needed.
Cutting, shaping, and smoothing lumber and other material according to measurements.
Assembling furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items, and installing them where designated.
Finishing trim and rough carpentry
Touching up and punch-listing all trim and drywall items, as well as fixing door and hardware issues.
Ability to work within safety requirements and guidelines.
Other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma.
Successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program preferred.
Proven experience as carpenter.
Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials.
Punchlist experience.
Completion of OSHA 10 or ability to complete.
Enjoy dealing with people.
Willingness to do non-trade specific items.
Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.).
A willingness to always follow safety guidelines.
Strong understanding of basic math.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Possess competent knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in carpentry,

Pay & Benefits:
Pay range: $22-$30 per hour.
Actual pay depends on education, experience, and performance.
Benefits include dental, vision, paid holidays, sick time.
Work Conditions:
This is a fully on-site role at the project location(s). This role requires travel independently or with partners for extended periods in various geographies and demographic areas (urban, rural, etc.). Multi-shift work may often be required to accomplish work in active retail locations to meet aggressive schedules. Must be flexible, adaptable, and able to work with fluid schedules and working conditions. Travel required (75%-90%). Must maintain a professional appearance and interact with on-site customers in a courteous and professional manner. Able to work on your feet indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Able to extend, lift and climb a ladder for roof access when a building ladder is not provided. Regularly required to sit; occasionally required to stand; walk; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
