responsibilities:
Oversees seven staff of the Accounting Department, which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
Manages the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
Works with external auditors and CFO and provides needed information for the annual audit.
Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Leverages accounting software and IT systems to effectively perform duties.
Delivers with timeliness, accuracy, completeness, and effectively, to the highest ethical standards, and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles for non-profit entities and in accordance with the organization's mission, values, and universal standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
qualifications:
SKILLS REQUIRED
Minimum Bachelor's degree in accounting or related area;
Minimum eight years of accounting required in multi-functional department
Certified Public Accountant preferred
Highly skilled with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and Zoom teleconferencing platforms as well as experience with standard office equipment.
Experience in non-profit and / or grant accounting a plus.
Demonstrates experience in knowledge of accounting theory and practices for non-profits desirable.
Promotes and adheres to company's mission, vision and values, policies and applicable laws in a fair and equitable manner.
