Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Pontiac, Michigan

Description

We are seeking an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in Auburn Hills, Michigan. This role focuses on overseeing the various accounting operations within the organization such as Accounts Receivable, Sales and Use Tax Compliance, Internal Audits, Daily Cash Reporting and Sales/AR/Cash/Tax Account Analysis and Reconciliations.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage the accounting operations including Accounts Receivable, Sales and Use Tax Compliance, Daily Cash Reporting and Sales/AR/Cash/Tax Account Analysis and Reconciliations

• Mentor, evaluate performance and develop the skills of direct reports

• Assist with journal entries, account analysis, balance sheet reconciliations and month-end AR closing activities

• Monitor and manage warranty program redemptions and chargebacks

• Ensure compliance on all sales tax exemption certificates

• Prepare accurate and timely management reporting schedules as assigned

• Prepare assigned interim and annual audit work papers

• Maintain and develop updated written accounting policies and procedures

• Coordinate accounting operations and audit requirements across all departments

• Participate in company continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and correcting inefficiencies and control weaknesses

• Provide support for other Accounting Manager during time-offs

• Supervise and perform remitting all state sales and use tax returns by deadline required by each taxing authority

• Develop financial queries, v-lookups and pivot tables for required analysis and reporting.

Requirements

Skills required:

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions is required

• Ability to manage all Accounting Functions effectively

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is needed

• Auditing skills are necessary

• Proficiency in Billing Functions is expected

• Strong leadership and team management skills are necessary

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is required
