The Opportunity with McKinstry
We are currently seeking a Construction Project Engineer to join our New Construction team in Portland. This role will assist with the management of projects, including documentation, procurement, and coordination with clients, subcontractors, vendors and internal parties. Project Coordination
As a Project Engineer , you will support the Request for Proposal (RFP) and procurement process along with tracking current and future jobs, reviewing contracts, drawings, and specifications. You will also be assisting with scheduling, assisting in the development of the scope of work with subcontractors, and assisting in the preparation of monthly financial reporting. To be successful in this position, you must have a strong sense of ownership and be technically sound.
Communication:
As a Project Engineer , you will be expected to communicate with general contractors, architects, engineers, and owners. You must possess the ability and confidence to interact with leaders within the industry. You will work closely with our project management team to solve problems and will gain hands-on experience in the field.
Documentation:
This role will be tasked with creating and responding to requests for information (RFI). You will develop, process, and track equipment, materials, and informational submittals, as well as process change orders, create billing breakdowns, and conduct estimates.
What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry
BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or comparable degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
Knowledge of construction concepts preferred.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, contracts, proposals, estimates preferred.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite required, working knowledge of Salesforce, ViewPoint and Accubid preferred.

The pay range for this position is $28.32 - $39.46 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This is a non-exempt role and will be paid hourly. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
