The Role:
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Team Lead to join our team.
The role is responsible for promoting the best environment allowing team to ensure supplier’s invoices are processed timely and accurately to be read for payment according to the SLAs and in line with the GKN policies. The role will also review exception items and escalate pertinent issues if required.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead a team (<15 people) of a functional specialists and manage a daily workload for assigned entities
Build strong relationship with local team and broader GKN Automotive organization to support and coordinate the business.
Be responsible for operational process delivery
Analyze and Identify trends to ensure accurate and on-time handling of incoming invoice volumes and analysis to oversee trends or issues which enable reaching target KPI’s.
Maintain complete and accurate standard operating procedures and support control documentation where required
Manages day to day issues and escalate when appropriate
Control and review all payment proposals and payment runs
Resolve mismatches and handling enquiries
Reconciles accounts payable total to the general ledger along with other applicable records
Coordinate a Month End Closing activities assigned to AP
Identify opportunities for process enhancements and work with continuous improvement mindset
Be responsible for people and skill development within process team
Who you’ll be:
To be successful in this position, you will have proven experience in Accounts Payable. Experience working with analyze and interpret data, would be an advantage.
Specific Functional Capabilities, Knowledge and Skills Required:
Minimum 5 years of Accounts Payable work experience required (leadership role is a plus)
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Strong analytical and numerical ability
Ability to analyze and interpret data, evaluate data and make recommendations based on data and market trends
Excellent planning and organizing skills - able to manage multiple tasks
Fully proficient with Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
Operated in complex environment with the same size and scale
Communication skills and cooperative mindset
Shared Service Centre experience
Language Skills: English
