Aerotek Industrial Maintenance Technician (Up To 30/hr) in Portsmouth, Virginia

Description

installing, repairing and maintaining large industrial textile processing equipment, as well as facility maintenance • Tasks include startup and shut down procedures, electrical troubleshooting, boiling work, welding and cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, or other systems • Provide preventative and corrective maintenance of this equipment and for the facility in general • Repair and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, PC, air, power • Perform plumbing, 3 phase electrical equipment, carpentry, boiler repair, welding, and general facility repairs • Answer and resolve daily maintenance requests in a timely fashion, so that minimal down time is experienced and operational processes are continually improved • Work with all plant personnel in a cooperative and professional manner • Strictly adhere to all safety rules, policies and procedures required by Shared Hospital Services • Remain current on equipment and repair procedures • Properly use power and hand tools • Keep accurate and timely records of maintenance performed • Follow written and verbal instructions and perform other tasks as directed by supervision • Physical Demands/Requirements during the shift - Standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, kneeling, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs, driving, sitting, writing, speaking and hearing

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Qualifications: • Have and maintain a valid drivers license. • Minimum of two years maintenance engineering experience with specific knowledge of machinery, electricity, strong in electronic trouble shooting, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welder and boiler applications. • Proficiency in the proper use of power and hand tools. • Strong electrical troubleshooting ability of 3 phase systems. • PLC programming and troubleshooting experience. • Excellent attendance record. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, ability to comprehend and follow direction, perform basic math, good time management skills and be a team player. • Strong in the use of machinery schematics and drawings.

Education: • High School graduation or similar experience. • Qualified to hold a drivers license.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
