Description Job Title: Respiratory Therapy ManagerDepartment: Respiratory Therapy Location: Canton-Potsdam HospitalHours Per Week: 40 scheduled weekly hoursSchedule: 8 hour work shift, 8:00am-4:00pm, with on call responsibility as needed SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Director of Physical Rehabilitation, provide operational leadership to the Respiratory Therapy Department. Provides respiratory and pulmonary medicine services to patients in support of regular staff, works collaboratively with Practitioners and provides guidance to Respiratory staff in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. The position will be responsible for staff scheduling, budgeting, quality programs and equipment and supply management. The candidate to adhere to professional standards of the national Board for Respiratory Care, the New York State Education Department and St. Lawrence Health System.RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide respiratory therapy treatment programs to PractitionersOversee inventory of equipment and supplies, evaluates and recommends new respiratory therapy and pulmonary medicine equipment and supplies Identifies, collects and reports statistical data to reflect the activities of the department and staff Assists with planning and providing staff development programs Working with Director of Rehab Services formulates policies and procedures for the departmentDevelops work schedules and job assignments for staffAssists in recruiting, orientation, training, evaluating and monitoring on-the-job performance of staff. Participates in community health education projects REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Clear understanding and communication of data and evidence based practices and proceduresDecisive judgment often exerted in emergent situationsAbility to initiate concerted team action toward identified goals and objectivesAbility to work collaboratively with a variety of licensed and non-licensed professionals internal and external to hospital operationsRequires critical thinking skillsApplication of knowledge and skills in performance of operational activity in new and evolving situationsThree to five years experience as a Respiratory TherapistRequired DegreeGraduate of an AMA approved two-year Respiratory schoolRequired Certification/LicensureRegistered Respiratory TherapistPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Care, healthcare administration or related fieldLeadership experience preferredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.PAY RANGE: $85,000.00 - $113,750.00 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
