About you

We are looking for a flexible, proactive and consultative sales professional who has a passion for education. You will be part of the European Sales Team focused on supporting the sales of teaching and learning resources and qualifications to the European International & Bilingual Schools segment. You will be responsible for growing revenue with a set of accounts, working closely with the relevant regional sales manager, plus supporting the entire sales team with pan European prospecting campaigns and activities. As we are all about learning, we provide comprehensive training, including shadowing experienced colleagues.

A day in the life of a Pearson Inside Sales Consultant * *

  • Planning your strategy for targeting schools - working with data provided by the European sales team, to identify opportunities to ensure we retain and grow our loyal customer base and target new opportunities.

  • Business development – work with sales team to identify, qualify and convert new business opportunities. Effective selling of products and services to primary and secondary schools in key European markets.

  • Key account management and customer focus – support sales managers to manage specific customers within the territory to maximise sales and provide a positive customer experience.

  • Managing your time effectively to keep in close touch with customers; 

  • Contacting key decision makers, discussing needs, proposing solutions and quotations maximising the customers’ use of our products so they renew each year, and increase spending with Pearson. 

  • Proactively identifying opportunities to increase the impact of Pearson’s services, from a combination of outbound and inbound emails and calls; confidently using technology – to deliver remote meetings through desktop sharing. 

  • Continually updating your knowledge of curriculum and our products and services to ensure you present the best proposition for the customer.  

  • Supporting different International marketing/sales campaigns as well as with other projects in the team. 

Experience and competencies:

  • Ed-tech experience desirable,

  • Proven track record in building and maintaining customer relationships

  • Sales experience in a target-driven environment, with a successful history of closing deals

  • Team player with demonstrated ability to support colleagues effectively

  • Consultative approach to offering solutions that meet customer needs

  • Strong planning and organizational skills

  • Positive ‘can do’ attitude

  • Proactive, independent and result-driven

  • Excellent communications

  • Fluency in English
