GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The Aloha Cloud (https://docs.ncr.com/restaurant/aloha-cloud/about/overview) team works on NCR Voyix's Point of Sale product that enables restaurant staff to service customers at their table with an online connection to the cloud back office, improving ordering precision and speed of service while reducing operation costs. The solution includes a C#.NET backend and front-end targeting Google Android. Another part of the team’s responsibility is the back office and kitchen systems.
For this position we are looking for a candidate who would help our colleagues focused on Point of Sale (Android) development. You would work closely with the rest of the team to deliver features for our Aloha Cloud solution. We are a feature team – we are focused on delivering a whole feature across our Aloha Cloud solution. You would be working on your part for the POS, while your other colleagues might be working on the API side to support the new back-office functionality. You would develop in Android and Java for the front-end part and in the future, we would love to see you contributing to our shared business logic, which is in C++ to support both Android and iOS development.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with other developers to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance new software solutions
Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and testing
Continually stay up to date with industry changes and bring new concepts to your team
Communicate with product owners, customers, and business stakeholders concerning the team’s work
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
2+ years with Java
2+ years of experience with Android development
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
Experience with agile concepts, especially Scrum
Experience with C++ or willing to learn
