Munich Re America Services, Inc. seeks a Solution Architect Sr. for its Princeton, NJ location.Duties: Involved in the development of architectures for complex systems, ensuring consistency with Global IT target architecture and specified requirements that are agreed with customers. Liaisewith Architecture team to ensure alignment with Munich Re IT Standards during implementation. Involved in management and development of the target design, policies and standards,working proactively to maintain a stable, viable architecture and operation environments. Create required business and/or technical documentation to support product needs pertaining to security and operational compliance. Collaborate with IT and/or Business teams to assess technology needs and effectively communicate complex architectural solutions. Help provide technical oversight for project teams to support technical solution and resolve technical roadblocks during sprints. Conduct technical due diligence on newer emerging technologies or SaaS platforms based on business needs. Contribute to the establishment of policy and strategy for the selection of complex systems architecture components, and help coordinate designactivities, promoting the discipline to ensure consistency. Communicate complex architecture objectives to business and consults during the development of product requirements.Analyze and design domain, application or application architectures in alignment with IT enterprise architecture. Responsible for understanding immediate and long-term business strategy, understand how current business processes are supported by existing systems and/or manual or automated processes. Work closely with business and technical teams to understand and enhance the company’s operating model and commercial objectives and how they translate into efficient and standardized business processes and platforms. Share accountability for delivery of the platform business capabilities vision and strategy. Collaborate with the Global IT community - The IT teams at Munich Re typically consist of internal / external consultants and resources across multiple locations onshore and nearshore. Work closely with the Business and the IT Teams to understand project objectives and goals to drive solutions approaches that align with Munich Re Architecture Standards. Work with Enterprise Architecture to assess and evaluate technical solutions that may be applicable to local BU unit. Work closely with IT Project delivery teams to ensure solution is implemented as designed and is operationally sustainable. Responsible for communicating and articulating technical landscape to business partners and leadership.Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field plus five (5) years of progressively responsible work experience as a Technical Lead, Software Lead, Software Engineer, Technical Architect, or closely related position. Candidate’s prior work experience must include two (2) years of experience in: Leading software application development life cycle including Architecture Design, Development, Unit Testing andDeployment of applications built on Microsoft Azure Cloud PaaS platform and two (2) years of experience in leading the Azure SQL database architecture and design with geo replication. Experience must include the following tools and technologies: Microservices Architecture; Microsoft Azure Cloud Services; Azure SQL Database; Azure SaaS and Azure PaaS; AzureDevOps; ASP.NET MVC; Webservices and Restful APIs; and C# (C-Sharp) and SQL Programming. May telecommute but must have ability to report Princeton, NJ office two (2) timesper week. Salary range is from $186,200 to $186,200 per year.
