TITLE: ISO/Safety Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Plant Manager/Manger of Services
DEPARTMENT: Plant Office
FLSA STATUS: Salary/Exempt
SUMMARY:
Provide ISO coordination and training at plant level to ensure compliance with
company QMS system guidelines. To manage and maintain safety program according
to OSHO Standards and JM Eagle.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes the following. Other duties
may be assigned.
1. Responsible for maintaining the Quality Management System manuals
including
distribution, updating, and follow up on manual changes.
2. Handles quarterly management review meetings and minutes, including
reports and all other items required for such meetings.
3. Helps to develop and maintain reporting on non compliance in all
departments including general of CPAR's and corrective actions.
4. Maintains good community relationships as they relate to his personnel and
the plant's effectiveness and reaching its objectives.
5. Handles designation of internal audit teams and ensures audits are
conducted as required.
6. Cooperate with service departments in changing of plant methods and
procedures in the utilization of personnel, materials and equipment that
will effectively improve the plant's operation of the QMS system.
7. Conducts new hire training, including plant safety walk thru,
forklift, LOTO, hot works, etc.
8. Conducts weekly monthly and annual safety inspections.
9. Conducts weekly safety meeting with all employees. Monthly fire ext.,
ladder, oil storage, GFI, inspections. Quarterly eye wash and exit.
10. Maintains OSHA 300 log. Handles workers comp. claims and all first aid and
recordable cases.
11. Compose monthly report
12. Reports monthly safety information to HQ. Performs other assignments as
directed by the department head or Plant Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each
essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are
representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Three plus years experience in a
plant environment required. OSHA 300 knowledge of workers compensation.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Experience with computers and basic keyboarding skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and
maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of
measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be
met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects,
tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach
with hands and arms, and talk and hear.
2. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or
climb stairs, and to climb ladders and work at heights up to 50 feet.
3. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and
occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
4. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, distance
vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the
ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds.
Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not
limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and gloves.
Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
SALA Y RANGE: $55,000 - $75,000 annually
