The Registered Nurse in the ICU provides direct and indirect patient care. He/she applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. The Registered Nurse must possess good communication skills and must be able to effectively communicate with physicians, peers, patients and families. He/She works collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team to ensure quality care is delivered.
Minimum Education Active Tennessee RN license or Compact State RN license with the intent to obtain a Tennessee RN license within 30 days of hire.
Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Must possess strong computer skills and have the ability to work with multiple computer systems Must be able to read and communicate effectively in English Must be able to operate standard patient care equipment for services provided. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR current or within 30 days of hire ACLS current or within 1 year of hire PALS current or within 1 year of hire
