Emerson Senior Engineer PCB design in PUNE, India

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior PCB Design Engineer who will work on Hardware team responsible for a highly PCB Design. This role requires a deep understanding of PCB Design processes (PCB layout & Analog Design).

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Work with electrical design engineering team for designing and development of Printed Circuit Board/Assemblies using Cadence Allegro & Altium PCB designer tool

  • Should be able to make layout for highly dense multilayer industrial PCBs with noise sensitive analog section, high seed digital section, medium wattage SMPS section.

  • Should have learning approach and follow PCBA design guidelines to ensure robust EMC, Thermal, performance.

  • Able to simulate circuits in tool like Altium.

  • Able to create schematic symbol, footprint, and support schematics modification.

  • Able to generate CAD file package (gerber files, pick and place files) to support PCB fabrication and assembly including documentation support for communication with fab and assembly suppliers.

  • Able to translate and create PCB outline, layout, component placement and PCB step file as defined in Mechanical drawings of the enclosure.

  • Perform efficient routing, suggest, or follow stack-up defined by the design engineer.

  • Prototype and production release documentation related to the creation and ECO submittal.

  • Lead PCB layout review meetings with BU and should attend calls based on project requirements.

  • Work with multi-functional product development teams for supporting NPD and sustaining designs.

  • Quick learner to adopt existing architectural and technical documents and prepare new document based on project requirements.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours that works best with the local and remote engineering center(s).

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Have min. 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in PCB design and development using Allegro (Design Entry, PCB Editor, Altium) or another equivalent layout and schematic tool.

  • Sound knowledge of electrical and electronic components and technologies – Surface mount and through-hole, critical IC packages like BGA, FBGA, QFN etc.

  • Experience with PCB manufacturing process (Design for Manufacturing, assembly, and testing) and validation of Gerber.

  • Experience in PCB layout for power supply (SMPS), high speed digital like DDR memory interface, and noise sensitive analog circuit design (Op-amp), microprocessor-based board level design including different peripherals like A/D converters, should be aware of industrial protocol interface RS485/ USB/Ethernet/ UART/ SPI/I2C and basics of power supplies design (Buck/Boost converters).

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
