POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing a high quality catering service for banquets and receptions and to achieve customer satisfaction and retention. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Be at work and in proper uniform according to scheduled time. * Follow instructions for each event as given by the Banquet Captain, Food & Beverage Asst. Manager or Food Beverage Manager.* Assist with collecting all banquet equipment to include flatware, china, glassware and serving pieces needed for each event. * Assist with preparing garnishes, beverages, condiments and breads. * Assist with cleaning and filling salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes, creamers, etc.* Assist with preparation and set up of event room when necessary.* Set tables with place settings as instructed by the Banquet Captain, Food & Beverage Asst. Manager or Food & Beverage Manager.* Attend pre-function meeting for briefing of event details. * Remain at assigned station and perform duties as assigned according to each event.* Report any customer concerns and/or complaints to the Banquet Captain, Food & Beverage Asst. Manager or Food & Beverage Manager.* Break down banquet equipment after each event.* Clean and return serving pieces to proper storage area.* Provide pleasant, courteous and efficient service to customers at all times.* Follow all rules and regulation which apply to the SMG Food and Beverage Division.* Adhere to strict grooming standards and policies of company.* Perform other related duties as assigned by the Food & Beverage Asst. Manager or Food & Beverage Manager. WORKING ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS: * Position requires walking, standing regularly, lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.* Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.* Irregular hours dictated by events. HOURS OF WORK AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Part-time, event driven and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday hours is a must. There are no travel requirements. KNOWLEDE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: * Must have knowledge of banquet catering services and banquet catering terminology* Must have strong guest services skills.* Must have a pleasant personality and neat appearance. * Must have ability to get along well with others.* Must have ability to receive and carry out instructions in a timely manner.* Must be able to stand or walk the duration of the shift.* Must be able to carry and lift, according to industry standards.
