Status: Full-time

Pay: $28-33/hourly

Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of this position is to establish and maintain a medical records/health information system for this facility.
Establish and uphold procedures to be followed in the collection, coding, indexing and filing/retrieving of medical records and health information.
Ensure that incomplete records and charts are returned to the appropriate department or personnel for correction.
Review discharges and other records on the nursing units.
Collect, assemble, check and file resident charts and personnel records.
Maintain a record of authorized information taken from charts.
Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.
Qualifications:
Must possess an Associate's degree from an accredited community or junior college.
Must have a minimum 3 years of experience in medical records of a health care facility.
Must be a graduate of an approved course for medical records technicians.
Must be familiar with IT and EMR systems; experience with Point Click Care preferred.
Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
